This Airbnb-based Canada goose trip is planned for approximately September 15–20 in Rangeley, Maine. Hunting will be from shore around the area the contributor called “Spots Point,” with access scouted after arrival. September 20 is reserved for travel home, and all-day sits are not expected.
The shore setup includes eight Avian-X honker floaters, camo netting supported with surrounding brush or available materials, and a compact tripod stool. A relatively short carry from the truck is expected. Depending on the distance to the setup, the kayak may instead be launched at a boat ramp and paddled over.
There is no dog in this System. The Avery 18-foot telescoping pole is planned for handling decoys and retrieving nearby downed birds. The Ascend H12 kayak provides retrieval support as needed, with a paddle and life jacket included.
The likely starting clothing is the Gradient Pant without base-layer bottoms, lightweight Darn Tough socks, Wick SS, Approach Hoody, and chest waders. The Delta Pro jacket always rides in the hunting pack. The Catalyst normally stays in the truck unless the weather calls for bringing it to shore.
