The One Bag earned its place by removing a decision. I have used it for roughly ten nights from mild camping to an Idaho hunt with large temperature swings and a northern Maine truck-tent night around 10 degrees. The modular layers really do let one bag cover very different conditions, which is useful when the forecast is uncertain and camp is close enough that bulk does not matter much. Backpackers carrying everything for miles should use a lighter, single-purpose bag instead.
Best for truck camping, hunting camps, and shoulder-season trips with unpredictable overnight temperatures.
