SIDE VISIBILITY THAT ACTUALLY CHANGES NIGHT DRIVING
These stopped feeling like a cosmetic truck accessory once the extra side light made tight maneuvering on dark logging roads materially easier. The forward flood plus side-shooter layout lights the road edges, ditches, gates, and the space the truck is turning into, which is exactly where normal headlights are weakest. I have had no meaningful light-related durability issues since installing them in 2023, although the mounting hardware has needed occasional attention. A basic forward-facing pod is enough if all you need is more light straight ahead.
Best for remote roads, tight turns, trail junctions, and maneuvering where side visibility matters.
Side-facing LEDs create usable width rather than simply adding more forward brightness.
GTW use since 2023 has been strong enough that the lights are planned to move to the next truck.
Tradeoff: They cost and install like serious auxiliary lighting, and occasional mount re-tightening has still been necessary.
