Overview

A non-insulated 8-inch hunting and hiking boot using nubuck and PUtek Spider fabric, a GORE-TEX Performance Comfort lining, an EVA midsole, and a Crispi x Vibram Megagrip outsole. The III generation has a Crispi Flex 2 rating.

WHAT MATTERS

Waterproof non-insulated build
GORE-TEX Performance Comfort lining is combined with an uninsulated leather-and-fabric upper.
Lighter flexible platform
Crispi rates the board-lasted platform Flex 2 and specifies a dual-density EVA midsole.
Asymmetrical lacing
The lacing layout allows adjustment around the toe-box area rather than implying one fit will suit every foot.
Megagrip outsole
The III uses Crispi x Vibram Megagrip; do not transfer the previous generation’s outsole identity.
Protected lower upper
A triple-stitched polyurethane-coated leather rand surrounds the lower upper.
Strapless gaiter compatibility
Compatible with the Crispi Strapless Gaiter Attachment System.

GTW TAKE

“

Flexible, tall coverage for active early-season hunts

The Lapponia III makes sense when covering ground matters more than maximum boot stiffness. Its Flex 2 platform, 21-ounce single-boot size-9 weight and 8-inch upper give it a clear role for scouting and mobile spring-to-early-fall hunting. Treat its waterproof lining and lighter construction as tradeoffs in heat and durability, and confirm heel hold before committing. This is a research-based take, not a GTW field test.
Choose it for a flexible stride and taller hunting coverage.
Hunters who want a very stiff platform for sustained steep sidehills may prefer a more supportive boot.
Dialed In Hunter’s exact-III eight-day pronghorn account is encouraging, but used aftermarket insoles and gaiters; it does not prove long-term lifespan.
III, II, Lite and Pro are separate products; retain the exact III identity when buying.
