A budget option for warm, dry walking hunts
Research-based assessment, not a GTW field test: the non-waterproof Moab 3 Mid makes sense for scouting and light-pack upland or turkey walking when airflow and price matter more than water exclusion. Its hiking construction supports that modest role; it does not establish suitability for heavy mountain pack-outs or prolonged abrasive brush.
Best fit: dry, moderate terrain and active walking with light loads.
Main compromise: rain, wet grass and crossings can wet feet; this version has no waterproof membrane.
Try the boot with hunting socks. A hiking review found a roomy fit, but that is one tester's experience.
Independent hiking evidence supports ventilation and moderate-terrain use; hunting transfer remains an editorial judgment.
