Overview

Full-size multi-tool platform built around Gerber’s center-axis driver, one-thumb opening spring-loaded pliers, outboard fine-edge blade, replaceable carbide wire cutters and full-size utility tools. Center-Drive variants differ mainly by included bit set and sheath configuration.

WHAT MATTERS

Center-Axis Full-Size Driver
Driver arm opens on the tool's center axis to operate more like a conventional screwdriver.
One-Thumb Spring-Loaded Pliers
Sliding plier head can be deployed one-handed and uses spring loading for repeated gripping.
Full-Size Outboard Blade
Fine-edge knife blade opens from the outside without unfolding the entire tool.
Replaceable Carbide Wire Cutters
Rotatable carbide cutters handle wire and can be replaced as wear accumulates.
Multiple Package Configurations
Core Center-Drive tool has been sold with standard sheath, bit set, MOLLE sheath, or combined bit-set/MOLLE packages.

THE MULTI-TOOL BUILT AROUND THE TOOL I ACTUALLY WANT TO USE

The Center-Drive earns its name by fixing one of the least satisfying parts of most multi-tools: using a tiny offset bit driver like a real screwdriver. The center-axis full-size driver, spring-loaded pliers, outboard blade, and replaceable cutters make it much more useful for truck, camp, and repair work than tools designed primarily around compactness. That full-size functionality also makes it heavier than pocket-first multi-tools.
Best for truck kits, camp repairs, and practical field work where a driver and pliers see real use.
The center-axis bit driver behaves much more like a normal screwdriver than an offset multi-tool driver.
One-thumb spring-loaded pliers improve repeated use when working one-handed.
Tradeoff: The full-size format is heavier and bulkier than minimalist pocket multi-tools.
